General Description

2-Propenoic acid, (3-phenoxyphenyl)methyl ester is a chemical compound that is also known as fenoxaprop-P-ethyl. It is a post-emergence herbicide used to control annual and perennial grass weeds in various crops such as cereals, sugar beet, oilseed rape, and potatoes. It is a clear, colorless to light yellow liquid with a faint, sweetish odor and is slightly soluble in water but soluble in most organic solvents. Fenoxaprop-P-ethyl works by inhibiting the synthesis of fatty acids in the targeted weeds, ultimately leading to their death. It is considered moderately toxic if ingested and can cause irritation to the eyes and skin upon contact.
