427-00-9 Usage
Chemical Properties
Off-White to Light Beige Solid
Uses
Desomorphine, is an Analgesic (narcotic).
Controlled substance (opium derivative).
General Description
Desomorphine, most commonly referred to by its street name Krokodil, is a designer opiate and morphine derivative originally abused in Russia and other parts of Europe due to its ease of manufacture from codeine. Desomophine was previously sold under the trade name Permonid as an opiate drug for treatment of pain. This certified solution standard is suitable for use in LC/MS or GC/MS opiate testing applications in clinical toxicology, forensic analysis, prescription monitoring, or urine drug testing.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 427-00-9 includes 6 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 3 digits, 4,2 and 7 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 427-00:
(5*4)+(4*2)+(3*7)+(2*0)+(1*0)=49
49 % 10 = 9
So 427-00-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

, p. 171 - 174 (2012/07/14)
This work describes a convenient and improved process for the synthesis of desomorphine from codeine. The proposed method affords the highly pure opiate without the aid of chromatographic purification, and provides a simple route for the synthesis of [2H3] deuterium-labeled desomorphine.
New method for the preparation of dihydro-6-desoxymorphine.
