2-methoxy-4,6-dimethylpyrimidine-5-carboxylic acid, also known as trimethoprim, is a medication that belongs to the class of antibiotics known as dihydrofolate reductase inhibitors. It is commonly used to treat bacterial infections, such as urinary tract infections, respiratory infections, and traveler's diarrhea.
