General Description
1,4-Piperidinedicarboxylic acid, 4-(cyanomethyl)-, 1-(1,1-dimethylethyl) 4-ethyl ester, also known as tadalafil, is a medication used to treat erectile dysfunction and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia. It works by increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation, allowing for an erection to occur. Tadalafil is in a class of medications called phosphodiesterase (PDE) inhibitors and it works by increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation. This increased blood flow can cause an erection. It also relaxes the muscles in the prostate and bladder.
