5270-30-4 Usage
General Description
6-Selenopurine is a chemical compound that is a seleno analogue of the purine nucleoside adenosine. It contains a selenium atom in place of the oxygen atom in the purine ring. 6-Selenopurine has been studied for its potential therapeutic applications in the treatment of cancer and viral infections due to its ability to inhibit nucleoside phosphorylases and to interfere with nucleic acid metabolism. Additionally, it has been investigated for its potential use in the development of new anti-cancer and anti-viral drugs. However, further research is needed to fully understand the biological and pharmacological properties of 6-Selenopurine.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 5270-30-4 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 5,2,7 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 5270-30:
(6*5)+(5*2)+(4*7)+(3*0)+(2*3)+(1*0)=74
74 % 10 = 4
So 5270-30-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Page/Page column 14-15, (2009/12/28)
The present application relates to anti-viral selenopurine compounds of formula (I) : wherein R1 is C2-6alkyl, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts, solvates, and prodrugs thereof. These 6-(C2-6alkylseleno)purine compounds find use in the treatment of neural measles virus infection and associated diseases (namely, multiple sclerosis or neural measles). A particularly preferred compound is ethylselenopurine or ESP.
