Chemical Properties
White Solid
Uses
Methoxyphenamine hydrochloride, is the salt version of methoxyphenamine (OMMA), a β-adrenergic receptor agonist, that regulates norephinephrine and ephinephrinein concentrations.
Safety Profile
Poison by intravenous, intraperitoneal, and subcutaneous routes. Moderately toxic by ingestion. An FDA over-the-counter drug used as a bronchodilator. When heated to decomposition it emits very toxic fumes of HCl and NOx.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 5588-10-3 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 5,5,8 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 5588-10:
(6*5)+(5*5)+(4*8)+(3*8)+(2*1)+(1*0)=113
113 % 10 = 3
So 5588-10-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Method for synthesizing methoxyphenamine hydrochloride
-
Paragraph 0020; 0021, (2017/07/12)
The invention relates to the technical field of synthesis of medicinal raw materials and chemical intermediates, in particular to a method for synthesizing methoxyphenamine hydrochloride. The method comprises the following steps: adding o-methoxyl phenylacetone and a methylamine ethanol solution into a reaction kettle, performing a reaction to obtain Schiff base, and further adding a metal reducing agent into the Schiff base obtained through the reaction to reduce the Schiff base. The method for synthesizing the methoxyphenamine hydrochloride is low in cost, high in product content and easy to industrialize, and the mole yield is greater than 82%.
