Methenamine Mandelate acts as an antibacterial agent.
Indications
Methenamine mandelate is a synthetic antibacterial agent that, when applied to
the skin, hydrolyzes to ammonia and formaldehyde. A 5% methenamine stick
or a 10% solution is effective in mild to moderate hyperhidrosis and rarely
produces allergic reactions.

Clinical Use
Hexamethylenetetramine mandelate (Methenamine) is awhite crystalline powder with a sour taste and practically noodor. It is very soluble in water and has the advantage ofproviding its own acidity, although in its use, the custom isto carry out a preliminary acidification of the urine for 24 to36 hours before administration.
