Description
Disperse Orange 5 is a red-brown powder with dark red light. It is insoluble in water and exhibits color changes when exposed to strong sulfuric acid or diluted, turning to red light brown and orange, respectively. In a 10% sulfuric acid solution, its color remains unchanged, while in a 10% sodium hydroxide solution, it turns darker brown.
Uses
Used in Textile Industry:
Disperse Orange 5 is used as a dye for polyester, polyamide fiber 66, acrylic, and triacetate fibers. It provides excellent ironing fastness, light fastness, perspiration fastness, and washing fastness, making it suitable for various textile applications.
Used in Wool and Fur Industry:
Disperse Orange 5 is also used for shading in the wool and fur industry, offering similar fastness properties as in the textile industry.
