The thermolysis of P-functionalized 7-phosphanorbornadiene tungsten complexes in o-xylene in the presence of various carbonitriles and dimethyl acetylene dicarboxylate (DMAD) was investigated. The resulting complexes were investigated by elemental analysis, NMR spectroscopy, UV/Vis spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, mass spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction method. The analytical data obtained confirmed the molecular structures of the compounds, which were separated and purified by column chromatography at low temperature and subsequent crystalliztion. The NMR spectra displayed three resonances for the 2h-1,2-azaphosphole ring with different phosphorus-carbon coupling constant magnitudes.
