7782-87-8 Usage
Chemical Properties
White, opaque crystals or powder; pun-
gent saline taste; very deliquescent. Soluble in water
and alcohol; decomposed by heat.
Production Methods
Potassium hypophosphite, KH2PO2, white solid, soluble, formed (1) by reaction of hypophosphorous acid and potassium carbonate solution, and then evaporating, (2) by reaction of potassium hydroxide solution and phosphorus on heating (poisonous phosphine gas evolved).
Hazard
Moderate fire risk, may explode if ground
with chlorates, nitrates, or other strong oxidizing
agents.

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 7782-87-8 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 7,7,8 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 7782-87:
(6*7)+(5*7)+(4*8)+(3*2)+(2*8)+(1*7)=138
138 % 10 = 8
So 7782-87-8 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
