General Description
Chromium(III) potassium sulfate dodecahydrate (Potassium chromium(III) sulfate dodecahydrate, Chrome alum) is a violet colored solid. It has been synthesized by reacting sulfur dioxide with potassium dichromate (diisolved in sulfuric acid) at -38°C. It is widely used chemical in dyeing and textile industry.
Purification Methods
Crystallise it from hot water (2mL/g) by cooling.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 7788-99-0 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 7,7,8 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 7788-99:
(6*7)+(5*7)+(4*8)+(3*8)+(2*9)+(1*9)=160
160 % 10 = 0
So 7788-99-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
