816-68-2 Usage
General Description
Lead malate, also known as lead(II) malate, is a chemical compound composed of lead and malic acid. It is a white solid that is not very soluble in water. Lead malate is commonly used in chemistry as a precursor for the synthesis of other lead compounds. However, it is important to note that lead is a toxic metal and exposure to lead compounds, including lead malate, can be harmful to human health. Ingestion or inhalation of lead particles can lead to a variety of health issues, including neurological, reproductive, and developmental problems. Therefore, proper safety precautions should be taken when handling lead malate in a laboratory setting.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 816-68-2 includes 6 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 3 digits, 8,1 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 6 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 816-68:
(5*8)+(4*1)+(3*6)+(2*6)+(1*8)=82
82 % 10 = 2
So 816-68-2 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

A hybrid chain compound of the formula [Sr(L- C4H 4O5) · 3H2O]·H2O (1) and a hybrid double layered compound of the formula [Pb(L- C4H 4O5)] (2) both with chiral structures, have been prepared strarting with L- malic acid, and characterized by X-ray crystallography and other techniques. An achiral three-dimensional hybrid compound of the composition [Pb(D,L- C4H4O5) · 2H 2O] (3) has been obtained starting with D, L- malic acid. A chiral coordination polymer of CuII with the formula [Cu3(L- C4H3O5)2·4H2O] · 2H2O (4) has also been characterized. The structures as well as the novel coordination modes exhibited by 1-4 are discussed.
