Usage

General Description

Tyr-somatostatin-28 is a synthetic analog of the hormone somatostatin, which is produced naturally in the hypothalamus and pancreas. It is composed of 28 amino acids and contains a tyrosine (Tyr) residue at its N-terminus. Tyr-somatostatin-28 acts as a potent inhibitor of the release of growth hormone, insulin, and glucagon. It also has inhibitory effects on gastric acid and pancreatic enzyme secretion, as well as on gut motility. Due to its ability to regulate hormone secretion and various physiological processes, Tyr-somatostatin-28 is used in research and therapeutic applications, such as in the treatment of endocrine disorders and neuroendocrine tumors.
