The invention provides a method for preparing 2,2-bis(2-tetrahydrofuryl)propane through hydrogenation of 2,2-bis(2-furyl)propane. The method is characterized by comprising the following steps: taking2,2-bis(2-furyl)propane as a raw material, and carrying out a hydrogenation reaction with hydrogen under the catalysis of a composite catalyst to obtain the 2,2-bis(2-tetrahydrofuryl)propane. The composite catalyst comprises an active component distributed on a catalyst carrier, a first auxiliary agent and a second auxiliary agent, wherein the active component is metal Ru, the first auxiliary agent is anyone or more selected from a group consisting of metal Li, Na and K, and the second auxiliary agent is anyone or more selected from a group consisting of metal Fe, Co and Cu. In the method provided by the invention, the composite catalyst is used for catalyzing hydrogenation of 2,2-bis(2-furyl)propane, the raw material conversion rate and the product selectivity are high, the content of Meso isomers of the product is high, the service life of the catalyst is long, and good hydrogenation activity can be still kept after the catalyst is continuously used for 20 times or above.
