9008-97-3 Usage
Uses
Phytohemagglutinin-M (PHA-M) has been used in the activation of Jurkat and primary cells. It has also been used to treat polymorphonuclear blood cells(PMBCs)
General Description
Lectins are distinct proteins or glycoproteins that have at least one non-catalytic domain which fixes reversibly to a definite mono- or oligosaccharide. Some of their potentially utilizable biological assets include: antitumor, immunomodulatory and anti-insect, antifungal, antibacterial, anti-HIV, and mitogenic properties.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Phytohemagglutinin (PHA) has mitogenic and potent cell agglutinating activities. It binds to T-cell membranes and stimulates cell division and metabolic activity. PHA has the ability to stimulate close contacts between cell membranes.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 9008-97-3 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 9,0,0 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 9008-97:
(6*9)+(5*0)+(4*0)+(3*8)+(2*9)+(1*7)=103
103 % 10 = 3
So 9008-97-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
