naphthenate Specification

Naphthenates are the salts of naphthenic acids, which are an acidic fraction from petroleum processing, and which are composed of a mixture of organic acids, especially cycloalkyl carboxylic acids. Industrial naphthenates include barium naphthenate, calcium naphthenate, cobalt naphthenate, copper naphthenate, lead naphthenate, magnesium naphthenate, manganese naphthenate, nickel naphthenate, sodium naphthenate, vanadyl naphthenate and zinc naphthenate.
Naphthenic acid and its salts have industrial applications including synthetic detergents, lubricants, corrosion inhibitors, fuel and lubricating oil additives, wood preservations, insecticides, fungicides, acaricides, wetting agents, and oil drying agents used in painting and wood surface treatment.
Zinc Naphthenate, with a molecular formula of 2(C11H7O2)Zn. Its appearance is brown yellow uniform transparent liquid. As a auxiliary dryer in coatings, it is usually used with cobalt dryer and manganese dryer to improve the drying effects. It can maintain paint films open for a longer time and get paint films with superior hardness. Zinc Naphthenate is a fine humectant for coatings, and it can be used as a deflocculant to prevent pigment sedimentation and agglomeration. And it is  also used as a delustrant in flat paints, an anti-fouling agent in ship bottoms paints, and a grinding dispersant for coatings. Other uses are as a gelatinizer for inks to improve the consistency.
Copper Naphthenate, with a molecular formula of  (C11H7O2)Cu. Its appearance is green oily liquid. Copper Naphthenate are widely used. It can be used as an anti-fouling agent, a bactericide and a catalyst in ship bottoms paints, or be used as an inhibitor for unsaturated polyesters to lengthen the canned time. Copper Naphthenate also can be used as a waterproofing agent for submarine cables and general cables, or be used in the production of agricultural pesticides and insecticides. Othe uses like as a preservative and a mould inhibitor in coatings for fibre products, such as timbers, cordages, canvases, and papers.
Ferrum Naphthenate, with a molecular formula of 2(C11H7O2)Fe. Its appearance is dark brown uniform oily liquid. As a auxiliary dryer, it is mainly used in light-colored coatings. It performs a strong polymeric drying function at high temperature, and it can improve the hardness and toughness of paint films. Ferrum Naphthenate is used in the production of oil additives, such as diesel oil additives. And it alsocan be used in
