Preparation: this chemical can be prepared by chloro-dimethyl-silane and methacrylic acid allyl ester. This reaction will need reagent 0.05 NH2PtCl6, phenothiazine and solvent tetrahydrofuran. The reaction time is 0.5 hours with reaction temperature of 80 °C. The yield is about 72%.

Uses of 2-Propenoic acid,2-methyl-, 3-(chlorodimethylsilyl)propyl ester: it can be used to produce 2-methyl-acrylic acid 3-(hydroxy-dimethyl-silanyl)-propyl ester at temperature of °C. It will need reagent 5percent aq. ammonia and solvent pentane. The yield is about 74%.
