- Synthesis, structure and third-order nonlinear optical properties of 1,3,5-triazine-based Zn(II) three-dimensional supramolecule
-
A novel zinc(II) 1,3,5-triazine-based complex [Zn(TIPT)Cl 2]·2CH3OH (1) (TIPT=2,4,6-tri(2-ispropylidene-1-ly) hydrazono-1,3,5-triazine) was prepared and structurally characterized by means of X-ray single crystal diffraction. The zinc(II) atom is coordinated at a distorted triangle bispyramid by three nitrogen atoms from TIPT and two Cl - anions. This compound exhibits a three-dimensional solid-state structure constituted by N-H?O, O-H?Cl, N-H?Cl and C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds. The third-order nonlinear optical properties were determined by Z-scan techniques. The results indicate the compound exhibit strong self-focusing effect, and the hyperpolarizability γ value is 8.26×10-30esu. Its thermal properties were also determined in air.

- Nitrogen rich carbon nitride synthesized by copolymerization with enhanced visible light photocatalytic hydrogen evolution
-
A novel method for preparing visible light enhanced photocatalytic carbon nitride was developed by copolymerization of melamine with a nitrogen rich precursor. The synthesized carbon nitride, CN-THDTx, with a unique structure exhibits strong visible light absorption ability. XPS results confirmed that the as-prepared CN-THDTx contains abundant nitrogen in a range of 53.0-77.4 at%. Moreover, the band gap can be efficiently controlled by changing the ratio of THDT. Under visible light irradiation, CN-THDT0.15 exhibited the highest hydrogen production (2.3 times than pure g-C3N4). After twelve continuous cycling experiments for hydrogen production for 4 h and carrying out one experiment for 48 h, the photocatalytic activity of CN-THDT0.15 showed negligible change, suggesting that the prepared sample has great potential application for photocatalytic generation of hydrogen from water splitting.

- Hydrazino-methoxy-1,3,5-triazine derivatives' excellent corrosion organic inhibitors of steel in acidic chloride solution
-
The corrosion inhibition performance of 2-hydrazino-4,6-dimethoxy-1,3,5-tirazine (DMeHT), 2,4-dihydrazino-6-methoxy-1,3,5-triaizine (DHMeT), and 2,4,6-tridydrazino-1,3,5-triaizne (TH3 ) on steel corrosion in acidic media was examined using electrochemical techniques. The results showed 2,4-Ddihydrazino-6-methoxy-1,3,5-triaizine (DHMeT) gave the best corrosion protection performance among the other hydrazino derivatives even at a low concentration of 25 ppm (95%). The number of hydrazino groups play an important role in the corrosion inhibition, where the two hydrazine groups increased the electrostatic interactions between the protonated tested compounds, the negatively charged steel surface resulted from the adsorption of the chloride anions, and the presence of the methoxy group made the compound more reliable for formation of film protection on the surface of steel through the lone pair of oxygen atoms. Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) measurements suggested that the corrosion process of steel in presence of the hydrazino-s-triazine derivatives (TH3 , DMeHT and DHMeT) were being controlled by the charge transfer reaction. Polarization curves indicated that the examined TH3 , DMeHT and DHMeT behaved as mixed type inhibitors.

- Synthesis and characterization of copper(II), nickel(II) and zinc(II) complexes of macrobicyclic hexadentate schiff base ligand
-
A macrobicyclic hexadenate schiff base ligand has been synthesised by the condensation of cyanauric chloride, hydrazine and terphthaldehyde and its Cu(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) metal complexes have been isolated. The ligand and their complexes have been characterised by elemental analysis, magnetic measurements, X-ray diffraction, reflectance and IR spectral studies. The X-ray diffraction studies show the number of molecules per unit cell n = 3 which is same for both macrobicyclic ligand and their complexes indicating that metal atom is inside the cage structure and coordinated by six nitrogen atoms which is supported by IR spectral data. The magnetic measurements show octahedral structure of the complexes.
