LONG CHAIN ALKYL ESTERS OF 4'-HYDROXYCINNAMIC ACIDS FROM LEAVES OF ROSA RUGOSA
Two novel long chain alkyl esters of cinnamic acid, 4'-hydroxy-cis-cinnamic acid docosyl ester and 4'-hydroxy-2,3-dihydrocinnamic acid pentacosyl ester, in association with known 4'-hydroxy-cis-cinnamic acid hexacosyl ester and octacosyl ester, were isolated from the leaves of Rosa rugosa.Key Word Index: Rosa rugosa; Rosaceae; leaves; 4'-hydroxycinnamates; 4'-hydroxy-2,3-dihydrocinnamate; higher alcohols; pentacosyl alcohol.
Synthesis and DNA polymerase α and β inhibitory activity of alkyl p-coumarates and related compounds
trans- and cis-Icosyl, docosyl, and tetracosyl p-coumarates, constituents of Artemisia annua L., and their structurally-related compounds were synthesized and evaluated for inhibitory activity on DNA polymerases α and β. Among 30 compounds synthesized, oc
