- GOLD(III) COMPLEXES CONTAINING 2- AS A CHELATING LIGAND
-
The complex (Az = 2-(phenylazo)phenyl, 2-(C6H4N=NC6H5)) reacts with AgAc(Ac = CH3COO) to give .Treatment of this complex with acids such as H2ox (ox = OOC-COO), HCl or (pyH)ClO4 (pyH = pyridinium) in 1/1 molar ratio has given , and ClO4. (ClO4)2 can be prepared by treating (i) with (pyH)ClO4 (1/2), (ii) ClO4 with (pyH)ClO4 (1/1), or (iii) with pyridine in the presence of NaClO4.It is possible to substitute one or both pyridine ligands of (ClO4)2 to give the ions 2+, 2+ and + (quinOH = 8-hydroxyquinoline).
