- Synthesis and Characterization of Novel S- and Se-containing Boron Heterocycles: 1,2,4,6,3,5-Thiatriazadiborinanes, 1,4,2,6,3,5-Thiaselenadiazadiborinanes, and 1,2,3-Diselenaboroles

3,5-Dimethyl-1,2,4,3,5-dithiazadiborolidines 1 react with sulfur diimides by replacement of the disulfane bridge and formation of 1,2,4,6,3,5-thiatriazadiborinanes (2a-c).A remarkable stable derivative of this heterocycle substituted by two N-tert-butylsulfur diimide groups (4) is formed by the reaction of 3,5-dibromo-4-phenyl-1,2,4,3,5-dithiazadiborolidine (3) with N-tert-butyl-N'-(trimethylsilyl)sulfur diimide. 1,2,4,3,5-Triselenadiborolane 5a reacts with sulfur diimides to give 1,4,2,6,3,5-thiaselenadiazadiborinanes (6a-c). 1,2,3-Diselenaboroles (7a-c) are formed by the reaction of 3,5-dialkyl-1,2,4,3,5-triselenadiborolanes 5a-c with 3-hexyne.The 1H, 11B, 13C, 29Si, 77Se NMR and mass spectra are discussed.
