On the Reaction of Silyl Enol Ethers with Activated Sulfoxides
Silyl enol ethers react with sulfoxides in the presence of trifluoroacetic anhydride to give α-sulfonio carbonyl compounds, which have been isolated as perchlorates or tetraphenylborates. This transformation has been studied with the silyl enol ethers of cyclopentanone, cyclohexanone, and indanone as well as with some (silyloxy)butadienes.
