Novel bifunctional thiolcarboxylic acid esters useful as crosslinking agents for optical materials
Novel bifunctional thiolcarboxylic acid esters such as thiodimethacrylates have been prepared in good yield by reaction of dimercaptanes with acid chloride in KOHaq and organic solvent system in the presence of phase transfer catalyst under mild reaction
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a (meth)acrylic acid thioester. SOLUTION: The method of producing a (meth)acrylic acid thioester represented by formula (3) [in the formula, R represents a n-valent aliphatic hydrocarbon group that may contain an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom or an aromatic ring, or a n-valent aromatic hydrocarbon group that may contain an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom; n is 1 or 2; and R1is the same as in formula (1)] comprises causing a (meth)acrylic acid halide represented by formula (1) (in the formula, R1represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; and X represents a chlorine atom or a bromine atom) to react with a thiol compound in the presence of a fatty acid ester and an aqueous solution comprising a basic compound.
