The reaction of 9,9,10,10-tetraalkoxy-9,10-disila-9,10-dihydroanthracenes with trimethylsilyl sulfate leads to the selective formation of 9,9,10,10-tetra(trimethylsiloxy)-9,10-disila-9,10-dihydroanthracene. 9,9,10,10-Tetra(trimethylsiloxy)-9,10-disila-9,10-dihydroanthracene can be obtained in a 10-15 percent yield by the reaction of its tetraethoxy derivative or sodium tetrasilanolate with trimethylchlorosilane.
