DERIVATIVES OF PHOSPHINYL AMINO CARBOXYLIC ACIDS (PHOSPHINOTHRICIN AND ITS ANALOGS). II. ADDITION OF BENZYLIDENEAMINO CARBOXYLIC ESTERS TO VINYLPHOSPHORYL COMPOUNDS WITH CATALYSIS BY NITROGENOUS BASES
Benzylidenamino carboxylic esters undergo Michael addition to vinylphosphoryl compounds in polar aprotic solvents with catalysis by nitrogenous bases. The reaction rate depends on the CH acidity of the Schiff base, the polarity of the medium, and the basicity and concentration of the catalyst. An experimental study of the kinetics of the addition showed that for glycine derivatives the reaction is of second order with respect to the vinylphosphinate taken, while for alanine derivatives it is of first order.
