Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 16034-61-0 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,6,0,3 and 4 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 6 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 16034-61:
(7*1)+(6*6)+(5*0)+(4*3)+(3*4)+(2*6)+(1*1)=80
80 % 10 = 0
So 16034-61-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

SYNTHESIS AND PHYSICO-CHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF L-ASCORBIC ACID ANALOGS

Galka, Grazyna,Machoy, Zygmunt,Ogonski, Tadeusz

, p. 1783 - 1793 (2007/10/02)

Physico-chemical properties of L-ascorbic, D-isoascorbic, D-glucoascorbic and D-galactoascorbic acids were investigated.D-Glucoascorbic and D-Galactoascorbic acids were obtained from synthesized sodium salts, and the other ones were used as ready-made preparations.Physico-chemical properties were determined on the basis of the absorption spectra, pK1 and pK2 values and redox potential values for various pH solutions.Oxidation reaction kinetics of these compounds with molecular oxygen and the effect of heavy metal ions on this reaction were investigated.
