The invention provides a method for recovering a diazonium salt stabilizer in the preparing process of alkalescent arylamine disperse azo dye. The recovering method includes the steps that when a diazotization reaction is carried out on alkalescent arylamine in organic solvent, the diazonium salt stabilizer is added and forms a double salt with an alkalescent arylamine diazonium salt, the double salt is separated out from a diazotization system, after the obtained diazonium double salt solid and a coupling component are subjected to a coupling reaction in a water solution of the diazonium salt stabilizer, the pH value of the system is adjusted to 6-8, water-insolubledisperse dye is removed through filtering to obtain filter liquor containing the diazonium salt stabilizer, and the filter liquor is concentrated and separated out of organic solvent to obtain a sodium salt of the diazonium salt stabilizer. The recovering method can effectively recover the diazonium salt stabilizer, production cost of obtaining the azo dye by carrying out diazonium compounding on the alkalescent arylamine as the diazonium component in the organic solvent is greatly saved, environmental pollution of the stabilizer is reduced from the source, pollution retreatment at the tail end of production is avoided, and the recovering method has wide application prospects.
