The invention provides a preparation method of a low-pollution diarylamino anthraquinone type solvent blue 78 dye. The preparation method comprises the following steps: sequentially adding Nmethylimidazole and 4bromobutyric acid into methanol, slowly dropwise adding a 50% sodium hydroxide solution while stirring at the temperature of 40 DEG C and 60 DEG C, and adjusting the pH value to be larger than 9, adding fluoboric acid, stirring for 4 hours and 6 hours, and removing methanol under reduced pressure to obtain a first mixture; heating the first mixture to 40 DEG C and 60 DEG C, adding 1, 4-dihydroxy anthraquinone, 1, 4-dihydroxy anthraquinone leuco body and monomethylamine, continuously heating to 50 DEG C and 65 DEG C, reacting to the end point, cooling to 30 DEG C and 45 DEG C, and performing suction filtration to obtain a filter cake and filtrate; and washing and soaking the filter cake with hot water, collecting washing and soaking liquid and filtrate, distilling and recycling, washing the filter cake with hot water to be neutral, and drying to obtain the solvent blue 78 dye. The solvent blue 78 dye [delta]C obtained by adopting the preparation method disclosed by the invention is brilliant 2.0 and has a pressure value which is less than 0.3, and the product quality can meet the application requirements of high-end customers.
