ANTIMICROBIAL COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
The present disclosure comprises antimicrobial compositions and devices comprising silver compounds that resist heat and light discoloration. In one aspect, the said compounds comprise silver and at least one s-triazine ring or moiety. In another aspect, the antimicrobial compositions are hydrogels that are effective against broad spectrum of common pathogens including MRSA and VRE and are suitable for treating human or animal wounds and burns. The methods of the present disclosure comprise treating medical and non-medical devices and articles with compositions comprising the silver compounds to impart antimicrobial property.

Process for the production of monoalkali metal cyanurates
A process for making monoalkali metal cyanurates in a powdery form from a cyanuric acid powder by adding thereto a concentrated aqueous solution of an alkali hydroxide such as sodium or potassium hydroxide. The concentrated aqueous alkali hydroxide solution is added sequentially to the cyanuric acid powder as the admixture is vigorously mixed, forming a monoalkali metal cyanurate as a hydrated powder.

Continuous process for the production of monoalkali metal cyanurates
A continuous process is disclosed for the production of monoalkali metal cyanurates. In the process, cyanuric acid and an aqueous solution of the alkali metal hydroxide are continuously reacted in a first reactor to produce a first slurry comprised of cyanuric acid and a monoalkali metal cyanurate. This first slurry is conveyed to a second reactor to further react the cyanuric acid with the alkali metal hydroxide to produce a second slurry comprised of the monalkali metal cyanurate. The novel process produces slurries of monoalkali metal cyanurate which are consistent both with respect to chemical composition and solids content while reducing equipment and operating costs.
