- PHENANTHROLINE COMPOUND AND COLORANT
-
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phenanthroline compound having a new skeleton available as a yellow pigment. SOLUTION: The phenanthroline compound is represented by the general formula in the figure. (In the general formula (1), R1 and R2 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, or an optionally substituted alkyl group, aryl group or indandione group, provided that at least one of R1 and R2 is the optionally substituted indandione group; and R3 and R4 each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a phenyl group.) - Pigment dispersion and ink
-
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pigment dispersion and ink, excellent in low viscosity and storage stability, with high contrast, by using a specified dye derivative, a dispersion agent and a binder resin, in which crystal precipitation of a diketopyrrolopyrrole pigment by heating operation is controlled. SOLUTION: The pigment dispersion and the ink includes the dye derivative, the dispersion agent and the binder resin as illustrated by a formula 1. (in General formula "Q-X", Q is a quinacridone residue, a diketo pyrrolo pyrrole residue, a benzo isoindole residue, an anthraquinone residue, a di-anthraquinone residue, a thiazine indigo residue, an azo dye residue or a quinophthalone residue, etc., and X is independently -OH, -SO3H, -COOH or the like). The condensation of methylated N-heterocycles and especially monomethyl- and polymethylpyridines on phthalic anhydrides leads to 2-aryl-1,3-indanediones.The 3-alkylidenylphthalides formed in an intermediary state have been isolated. The influence of solvents and temperature on the velocity and yield of formation of 2-(2- and 4-pyridyl)-1,3-indandiones has been studied. The ir and nmr spectra confirm that these compounds exist under a β-diketoenamine form resonating with a betaine form.
