- Process for preparing fluorinated compounds
-
A process for preparing fluorinated compounds belonging to the classes: wherein: X is NRx, O, S, CFRx, C(Rx)2, or CF2 ; Y is NRx, O, S, CFRx, C(Rx)2, or CF2 ; X is different from Y; Rx is a perhalogenated alkyl group, containing from 1 to 4 carbon atoms; n is either 0 or 1; Z1 and Z2, which may be either equal to, or different from, each other, represent F, Cl, Br, H or Rx. The process is characterized in that a fluorinated cyclic compound of the formula: STR1 is reacted, at a temperature within the range of from -80° to +300°, with HF in the presence of a Lewis acid. Some of the so-obtained compounds per se are novel.

The present invention provides a process for preparing fluo-rinated compounds of general formulae:, XH-Y-(CF2)n-CZ1Z2F (I), and, YH-X-(CF2)n-CZ1Z2F (II), wherein:, X and Y, different from each other, both represent Rx,O,S, CFRx, C(Rx)2 or CF2;, Rx is a perhalogenated alkyl group containing from 1 to 4 carbon atoms;, n is 0 or 1;, Z1 and Z2, the same or different from each other, represent F, Cl, Br, H or Rx. Said process is characterized in that a fluorinated cyclic compound of formula is reacted, at a temperature of from about -80°C to about +300 °C, with HF in the presence of a Lewis acid. Some of the resulting products are novel compounds.
