N-NITRATION OF 5-AMINOTETRAZOLE BY TETRANITROMETHANE, HEXANITROETHANE, AND PENTAERYTHRITOL TETRANITRATE
The N-nitration of 5-aminotetrazole with tetranitromethane, hexanitroethane, and pentaerythritol tetranitrate in the presence of strong alkaline agents leads to the formation of the corresponding salts of 5-nitroaminotetrazole.In contrast to this, a salt of azotetrazole is formed in addition to the 5-nitroaminotetrazole salt during nitration with tetranitromethane in the presence of a weakly alkaline agent (sodium bicarbonate).
