The invention discloses a preparation method for ticarcillin sodium. The preparation method comprises the steps that 3-thienylmalonic acid and pivaloyl chloride react in the presence of triethylamine to obtain mixed anhydride; 6-APA and N,O-bis(trimethylsilyl) acetamide react to obtain silylanized 6-APA; then the mixed anhydride reacts with the 6-APA to obtain ticarcillin acid; the ticarcillin acid further reacts with sodium iso-octoate to obtain ticarcillin sodium. The method has the advantages of being mild in reaction condition, simple in operation, simple in post-treatment, friendly to environment, high in product yield and purity and the like.
