Chelated Oxovanadium(V) Dichlorides and Related Compounds
A series of compounds of the type (L)VOCl2, where LH is a monobasic bidentate chelating ligand such as salicylaldehyde or a β-diketone, has been synthesised. The chlorine atoms of these dichlorides are replaceable with phenol, catechol and resorcinol. With oxovanadium trichloride these phenols give the expected chlorine-free compounds. The structure of these products has been discussed.
