Reactions of Metal Coordinated Carbon Monoxide with Ylides, V. Synthesis and Methylation of a Neutral Manganeseacyl-Phosphorous Ylide
PF6 (1) reacts with two equivalents Me3P = CH2 via ylide addition at the carbonyl carbon and transylidation to give MeC5H4(CO)(NO)MnC(O)HC = PMe3 (3) and PF6 (2).In addition, 3 is obtained from the manganese cation and Me3P = CHSiMe3 or from MeC5H4(CO)(NO)MnC(O)OMe (6) and Me3P = CH2, respectively.Treatment of 3 with MeX (X = I, SO3F) exclusively yields the manganeseacyl phosphonium salts X (7a, b).The new manganese complexes are characterized by NMR and IR spectroscopy.
