- REACTIONS OF PERHALOCARBONS. PART IX. CONVERSION OF PER(POLY)FLUOROALKYL HALIDES INTO THE CORRESPONDING CARBOCYCLIC ACIDS WITH A REDOX SYSTEM
-
The conversion of per(poly)fluoroalkylhalides into the corresponding carbocyclic acids with a redox system-(NH4)2S2O8/HCO2Na is described. The reaction provides a convenient method for the synthesis of various per(poly)fluorocarboxylic acids under mild conditions.

- A NEW METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF UNSATURATED PERFLUORINATED CARBOXYLIC ACIDS
-
A new method is described for the production of unsaturated perfluorinated carboxylic acids, involving the oxidation of fluoroalkanes with the general formula H(CF2)nCFClCF2Cl, where n=2, 4, or 6, by a mixture of chlorine and nitrogen oxides at 500 deg C with subsequent dechlorination of the obtained acids HOOC(CF2)n-1CFClCF2Cl with zinc dust in a solvent.
