- METHOD FOR THE SYNTHESIS OF N-(PHOSPHONOMETHYL)GLYCINE
-
The present invention is related to a method for the synthesis of N- (phosphonomethyl)glycine or one of its derivatives selected from the group consisting of its salts, its phosphonate esters, or its phosphonate ester salts, which includes the steps of: ? a) forming, in the presence an acid catalyst, a reaction mixture comprising 2,5- diketopiperazine, formaldehyde and a compound comprising one or more P-0-P anhydride moieties, said moieties having one P atom at the oxidation state (+ III) and the other P atom at the oxidation state (+III) or (+V), to form Ν,Ν'- bisphosphonomethyl-2,5-diketopiperazine, its mono- to tetra phosphonate esters, the dehydrated forms of Ν,Ν'- bisphosphonomethyl-2,5-diketopiperazine and the phosphonate esters of its dehydrated forms; ? b) hydrolysing said N,N'-bisphosphonomethyl-2,5-diketopiperazine, its dehydrated forms or their phosphonate esters to obtain N- (phosphonomethyl)glycine or one of its derivatives selected from the group consisting of its salts, its phosphonate esters and its phosphonate ester salts.

- USE OF GLYCEROL ETHERS AS ACTIVATORS OF THE BIOLOGICAL EFFECTS OF A HERBICIDE, FUNGICIDE OR INSECTICIDE SUBSTANCE
-
The invention relates to the use of glycerol ethers as agents that activate the biological effects of at least one substance selected from a herbicide, fungicide or insecticide. The invention essentially relates to the use of glycerol ether as an agent that activates the biological effects of at least one substance selected from a herbicide, or fungicide or insecticide, said glycerol ether having formula (1), wherein R1 represents an alkyl group having between 1 and 18 carbon atoms and R2 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having between 1 and 18 carbon atoms, preferably a methyl or ethyl group. The invention also relates to a phytosanitary composition containing one such glycerol ether, as well as to a phytosanitary treatment method using said composition.

- HIGH-STRENGTH, HERBICIDAL COMPOSITIONS OF GLYPHOSATE AND 2,4-D SALTS
-
The mixture of certain amine salts of glyphosate and 2,4-D allows the preparation of high-strength liquid compositions containing up to greater than 450 gae/L of total active ingredient loading if the pH is adjusted to 6.0 to 8.0. Compositions are particularly well-suited for application to crops that are resistant or tolerant to both glyphosate and 2,4-D.

- Ultra-high loading glyphosate concentrate
-
This invention relates to a storage stable, aqueous, herbicidal formulation containing an ultra-high concentration of glyphosate in the isopropylamine, potassium or mixed salt form in combination with a surfactant system, to a method of making the formulation, and to a method of treating unwanted vegetation employing the formulation. The surfactant system employed in the concentrate comprises dialkoxylated alkylamine, water miscible solubilizer and amine oxide. The surfactant system unexpectedly permits the formulation of storage stable, ultra-high loaded aqueous glyphosate salt concentrates possessing high or no cloud points.

- Non-hygroscopic monoammonium salts of phosphonic and phosphinic acids
-
A solid, non-hygroscopic salt of the Formula (I) STR1 wherein R1 is hydroxy or alkyl; A is C1 to C4 alkyl-amino or an amino-alkyl group containing a primary or a secondary amino group; and B is ammonium ion or an alkyl-substituted ammonium ion, which is substantially free of a diammonium salt STR2

- OPTICAL ISOMER OF R-FORM OF DIPHENYL ETHER DERIVATIVE AND HERBICIDE CONTAINING THE SAME AS ACTIVE INGREDIENT
-
A herbicide containing an optical isomer of R-form of a diphenyl ether derivative represented by formula (I), which has a more excellent herbicidal activity with a smaller dose thereof than one containing the corresponding racemate. The use of the compound of formula (I) together with various herbicides known per seserves to improve the fast-acting property and widen the herbicidal spectrum with a small dose.
