I2/TBHP-promoted, one-pot, multi pathway synthesis of imidazopyridines and thiazoles has been achieved through readily available ethylarenes, ethylenearenes and ethynearenes. I2/TBHP as an initiator and oxidant is used to realize the C-H functionalization of this domino reaction. Gold-catalyzed oxidation of terminal alkynes to glyoxals and their reactions with 2-phenylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridines: one-pot synthesis of 1,2-diones
A novel one-pot protocol for the convenient and efficient synthesis of (2-phenylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-3-yl)alkane-1,2-diones (3) in good yields (32-88%) from 2-phenylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridines (1) and terminal alkynes (2) has been established with a wide range of substrate scope. A tandem reaction sequence containing gold-catalyzed double oxidations of terminal alkynes to generate glyoxals, nucleophilic addition of 2-phenylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridines to glyoxals to yield α-hydroxyl ketones, and oxygenation of the α-hydroxyl ketones to afford the final products3under air atmosphere is involved in this method. CuCl2-catalyzed N[sbnd]O bond cleavage of oxime esters: Approach to imidazoheterocycles and furo[3,2-c]chromenyl fused imidazoles
An articulate approach to a diverse set of imidazoheterocycles in good to high yields via a copper-catalyzed aza-annulation of several oxime esters with a group of 2-amino-azaarenes was developed. The above cyclization reaction probably proceeds via a single electron transfer process which embodies a new technique for creating two new C[sbnd]N bonds for imidazole ring synthesis. A simple and efficient route to 2-arylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridines and zolimidine using automated grindstone chemistry
A green and efficient mechanochemical method for the synthesis of a series of 2-arylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridines was developed using an electrical grinder. I2 catalyzed mechanochemical grinding facilitates the cyclocondensation reaction between various aryl methyl ketones and 2-aminopyridines to afford 2-arylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridines in good yields at ambient temperature. The method was successfully used for the gram-scale synthesis of a marketed drug, zolimidine. The noticeable advantages of this environmentally sustainable protocol include mild conditions, simple instrumentation, inexpensive catalyst, atom economy, short reaction time etc.

Sodium Salts (NaI/NaBr/NaCl) for the Halogenation of Imidazo-Fused Heterocycles
We report herein an effective method for the halogenation of imidazo-fused heterocycles using readily available sodium salts (NaCl/NaBr/NaI) as halogen source and K2S2O8 (or) oxone as promoter. CuI-catalyzed aerobic oxidative α-aminaton cyclization of ketones to access aryl or alkenyl-substituted imidazoheterocycles

Pd-catalyzed regiocontrolled Sonogashira and Suzuki cross-coupling reaction of 3,6-dihalogenoimidazo[1,2-a]pyridines: One-pot double-coupling approach
New and efficient regioselective Sonogashira and Suzuki-Miyaura palladium-catalyzed coupling reactions of 3,6-dihalogenoimidazo[1,2-a]pyridines followed by another cross-coupling has been successfully developed. Various solvents, palladium species and bases were tested. Scope and limitations of this regiocontrolled palladium-catalyzed reaction were investigated. The synthesis of 3,6-disubstituted imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine derivatives using one-pot regioselective double-coupling approach was developed. This procedure affords convergent syntheses of polysubstituted compounds in high yields in a very few steps.

Synthesis of polysubstituted imidazo[1,2-a]pyridines via microwave-assisted one-pot cyclization/Suzuki coupling/palladium-catalyzed heteroarylation
(Chemical Equation Presented) A new and efficient method for the synthesis of 2,3,6-trisubstituted imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine derivatives using a microwave-assisted one-pot, two-step Suzuki/heteroarylation or one-pot, three-step cyclization/Suzuki/heteroarylation was developed. Polysubstituted compounds are obtained in good yield from 2-amino-5-halogenopyridines, 2-halogenocarbonyl derivatives, boronic acids, and heteroaryl bromides.

An organic electroluminescence device comprising at least one of organic compound layers including a light emitting layer sandwiched between an anode and a cathode, wherein said at least one of the organic compound layers comprises the derivative of the heterocyclic compound having nitrogen atom as a sole component or as mixed component. The organic electroluminescence device achieves elevation of luminance and excellent efficiency of light emission, and also achieves long lifetime by an improvement of an electrode adhesion.
