- COLORING RESIN COMPOSITION, COLOR FILTER, AND IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE
-
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coloring resin composition that has high color purity, satisfies heat resistance, light resistance, and a voltage retention rate necessary for long-term reliability, which are required in the production process of a color display, and does not color migration to an adjacent color pattern. SOLUTION: A coloring resin composition contains a colorant, a solvent and a binder resin. The colorant contains a multimer of a triarylmethane-based compound having a naphthalene ring represented by dye B. SELECTED DRAWING: None COPYRIGHT: (C)2018,JPOandINPIT

- Beyond the five and six: Evaluation of seven-membered cyclic anhydrides in the castagnoli-cushman reaction
-
The Castagnoli-Cushman reaction with benzo[d]- oxepine-2,4(1H,5H)-dione as an anhydride component allowed for preparation of 2,3-disubstituted 4-oxo-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-benzo[d]- azepine-1-carboxylic acids in 21-75% yields and with good trans diastereoselectivity. The method worked with imines generated from aromatic or a-branched aliphatic aldehydes and is amenable for both parallel synthesis and scale-up. The procedure for epimerization of the resulting trans-disubstituted tetrahydrobenzo[d]azepines to their cis isomers was also developed.

- Synthesis of N,N′-diarylalkanediamides and their antimycobacterial and antialgal activity
-
A set of N,N′-diarylalkanediamides was synthesized. The compounds were tested for their antimycobacterial and antialgal activity. The antimycobacterial activity of N,N′-diarylalkanediamides depends on the lipophilicity of the respective acid. Antimycobacteri-ally active substances were found only in the series of N,N′-diarylethanediamides and N,N′-diarylbutanediamides. Other compounds (derivatives of pentane-, hexane-, octane- and nonanediamide) were inactive against various strains of mycobacteria. The compounds inhibited growth and chlorophyll production in Chlorella vulgaris. Their relatively low antial-gal activity is probably connected with their lowered aqueous solubility, and hence by a restricted passage of the inhibitor through the hydrophilic regions of thylakoid membranes.

- Ni0-induzierte und -katalysierte Herstellung ungesaettigter Adipinsaeureanilide

It is shown that 4-pentencarboxylic acid anilide (I), which can readily be prepared catalytically from ethene and phenyl isocyanate (II), further reacts with II on ligand-nickel(0)-systems in a highly regioselective reaction to form triphenylphosphine-5-azanickelacyclopentan-4-one (Va).Protonolysis of Va leads to adipic acid anilide. When Va is treated with maleic acid anhydride at 20 deg C. a β'-H-elimination, is induced because the hydrolysis gives the symmetric 3-hexendicarboxylic acid dianilide (XII) with high selectivity. The catalytic reaction of I and II on a ligand-nickel(0)-complex (ligand = tricyclohexyl-phosphite) involves a β-H-elimination to yield 2-hexendicarboxylic acid dianilide (XI).This opens up the possibility of producing adipic acid derivatives catalytically in a two step synthesis from ethene and phenyl isocyanate. The mechanisms and special features are discussed.

- Reaction of Phenyl Isothiocyanate with Some α,N-Acylamino and Dicarboxylic Acids
-
Dianilides are obtained in the reaction of phenyl isothiocyanate with dicarboxylic acids, such as oxalic, malonic, glutaric and adipic acids, and not in the case of succinic and phthalic acids. In the case of succinic acid, the product is monoanilide, dianilide or N-phenylsuccinimide, depending upon the reaction conditions.Phthalic acid always gives N-phenylphthalimide.N-Acylamino acids on reaction with phenyl isothiocyanate yield the corresponding anilides. The probable mechanisms of this reaction are discussed.
