- Trifluoro-1,3,5-tridehydrobenzene
-
(Chemical Equation Presented) Three stay, three go: Flash vacuum pyrolysis (FVP) of 1 and subsequent trapping of the products in solid argon at 3 K produces trifluoro-1,3,5-tridehydrobenzene (2). IR spectroscopy, the photochemical behavior, and quantum chemical calculations confirm that for the first time a derivative of the elusive 1,3,5-tridehydrobenzene could be isolated and spectroscopically characterized.
