The invention discloses a method for preparing 3beta-acetoxy-5alpha-chloro-6beta-hydroxy androstane-17-one from solid waste 3beta-acetoxy-6alpha-chloro-5beta-hydroxy androstane-17-one in the additionreaction process for preparing 3beta-acetoxy-5alpha-chloro-6beta-hydroxy androstane-17-one by virtue of 3beta-acetoxy androstane-5-ene-17-one through cyclization elimination and addition ring opening.According to the method, the byproduct in the preparation process of 3beta-acetoxy-5alpha-chloro-6beta-hydroxy androstane-17-one is effectively recycled and reutilized, the method is environment-friendly, and the production cost is lowered. The method for preparing 3beta-acetoxy-5alpha-chloro-6beta-hydroxy androstane-17-one is simple and convenient in operation, mild in reaction condition and high in yield.
