Used in Agriculture:
Kasugamycin is used as a fungicide and bactericide for controlling various plant diseases, such as rice blast caused by Pyricularia oryzae, bacterial grain rot, bacterial seedling blight, and bacterial brown stripe caused by Pseudomonas spp. It is also effective against other plant diseases, including leaf mold and bacterial canker in tomatoes, bean halo blight, scab on apples, Cercospora spp. leaf spot on sugar beet, and bacterial soft rot on potatoes.
Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
Kasugamycin is used as an antibiotic aminoglycoside that inhibits protein synthesis, making it a potential candidate for treating bacterial infections.

Toxicity evaluation

Nonphytotoxic to rice, tomatoes, sugar beet, potatoes, and other vegetables, but slightly toxic to peas, beans, grapes, citrus, and apples.
