SYNTHESIS AND SOME REACTIONS OF ALKYLARYL MONO- AND DIPEROXIDES CONTAINING A KETONE GROUP
Alkylaryl mono- and diperoxides containing a ketone group were synthesized by the reaction of alkyl hydroperoxides with 1-(1-hydroxy-1-methyl-ethyl)-4-acetylbenzene and by the reaction of 1-(1-hydroperoxy-1-methylethyl)-4-acetylbenzene with tertiary alcohols and hydroxy peroxides, and the products were characterized. The obtained keto peroxides were converted into 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazones and oxidized to carboxyperoxides with sodium hypobromite.
