, (2008/06/13)
A method for the producing 2-[[[5-(dialkylamino)alkyl-2-furanyl]methyl]thio]-ethane amine by the reaction of cysteamine or cysteamine hydrochloride containing free hydrogen chloride with 5-(dialkyl amino)alkyl furfuryl alcohol, which method can be obtained the product in a highly yield by carrying out said reaction at a temperature in the range of 30° to 80° C.

Ranitidine, N--2-furanyl>methyl>thio>ethyl>-N'-methyl-2-nitro-1,1-ethenediamine, (1) reacts with one equivalent of nitrous acid to give N'--2-furanyl>methyl>thio>ethyl>-2-(hydroxyimino)-N-methyl-2-nitroethaneimidamide hydrochloride (2).In the presence of two equivalents of nitrous acid N'--2-furanyl>methyl>thio>ethyl>-2-(hydroxyimino)-N-methyl-2-nitro-N-nitrosoethanimidamide (8) is formed. In dilute hydrochloric acid the C,N-dinitrosated product (8) decomposes to give the C-mononitrosated product (2) which in turn decomposes to give 5--2-furanmethanol hydrochloride (3) and 5,6-dihydro-3-methylamino-2H-1,4-thiazine-2-one oxime hydrochloride (4).X-ray studies confirm the structure of the 1,4-thiazine-2-one oxime hydrochloride (4) and a U-shaped conformation of (8) in the solid.
