- Halides and Complex Halogeno Anions as Salts of Benzoylacetonato-bis(cyclopentadienyl)titanium(IV) Chelates
-
A series of compounds of the type (+) X(-) where X(-) = Br(-), I(-), CuCl3(-), ZnCl3(H2O)(-), CdCl4(2-), HgCl3(-), SnCl3(-), FeCl4(-) and Hbzac=benzoylacetone have been synthesised.Conductivity measurements in nitrobenzene indicate that all the complexes are electrolytes.IR and PMR studies indicate that benzoylacetone acts as a chelating ligand in all these complexes, and the titanium atom is tetrahedrally coordinated with two ?-cyclopentadienyl groups and two oxygens of the benzoylacetone ligand.
