The gas-phase exchange reaction between 1,1-dichlorosilacyclopent-3-ene and isoprene was studied in the temperature range 420-520 deg C, and its rate constants and parameters of the Arrhenius equation were determined.It was shown that the exchange reaction is accompanied by a slower reaction in which 1,1-dichlorosilacyclopent-3-ene is isomerized into 1,1-dichlorosilacyclopent-2-ene.A general scheme is proposed for the pyrolytic transformations of 1,1-dichlorosilacyclopent-3-ene: This shows the main patterns of behavior in the thermal transformations of 1,1-dichlorosilacyclopentenes, both in the presence of various silylene traps (various dienes), and also in their absence.
