PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a perfume precursor that has excellent storage stability, particularly in an aqueous product, and allows the long-term sustained-release of a flavor, and a method for producing the same, a perfuming method using the same, a flavor composition comprising the same, and a fiber treatment agent, cosmetics, hair cosmetics, and a detergent comprising the flavor composition. SOLUTION: A perfume precursor comprises an ester of a flavor having a phenol structure or a hydroxy-4-pyrone structure, and an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid having carbon atoms of 6 or more and 20 or less.
