Used in Transfer Hydrogenation:
Ruthenium,tetracarbonyl-m-hydro[(1,2,3,4,5-h)-1-hydroxylato-2,3,4,5-tetraphenyl-2,4-cyclopentadien-1-yl][(1,2,3,4,5-h)-1-hydroxy-2,3,4,5-tetraphenyl-2,4-cyclopentadien-1-yl]diis used as the Shvo catalyst for transfer hydrogenation, a process that allows for the reduction of carbonyl compounds to alcohols using a hydrogen donor and a catalyst.
