A convenient method for the synthesis of borasiloxanes from silanes and pinacolboranes using Cu3(BTC)2 as a heterogeneous catalyst in acetonitrile at 70 °C is reported. This procedure is more convenient than Ru and Pd based homogeneous catalysts because it avoids the use of noble metals, easy handling of starting materials and the catalyst can be reused.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially advantageous manufacturing method of borosiloxane, which is important as an electrolyte additive of a lithium ion battery or the like. SOLUTION: There is provided a boron compound having Lewis acid with index acceptor number of the Lewis acid of 60 to 110. There is provided a manufacturing method of borosiloxane represented by R5nB(OSiR1R2R3)3-n or the like by reacting hydrosilane represented by R1R2R3SiH or R1R2R4SiOSiR1R2H and a boronic acid derivative represented by R5nB(OR6)3-n or the like in the presence of a catalyst such as Tris (pentafluorophenyl) borane. R1 to R3 and R5 are each independently C1 to 12 alkyl or C6 to 12 aryl, R4 and R6 are each independently C1 to 12 alkyl, C6 to 12 aryl or H, and n is an integer of 0 to 2. Selective O-borylation of silanols with diborons took place in the presence of Pd catalysts to give the corresponding boryl silyl ethers in high yields.
