The invention discloses a preparation method of 1-fluorocyclopropane carboxylic acid. The preparation method comprises the following steps: dissolving 1-aminocyclopropane carboxylic acid in a fluorination reagent, adding a diazotization reagent, and reacting at -78 to 150 DEG C for 8-36 hours to obtain 1-fluorocyclopropane carboxylic acid. According to the preparation method of 1-fluorocyclopropane carboxylic acid, the 1-aminocyclopropane carboxylic acid is reacted with the diazotization reagent, diazotization is carried out, and reaction with the diazotization reagent is adopted, so that 1-fluorocyclopropane carboxylic acid is rapidly and efficiently prepared through a simple one-step process; 1-aminocyclopropane carboxylic acid, the fluorination reagent and the diazotization reagent areused as raw materials, the cost of the raw materials is low, reaction conditions are easy to control, and the method is suitable for large-scale production; the reaction yield reaches 38%, the processis simple, and pollution is not likely to be caused.

A new process for the preparation of 1-fluoro-cyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid of the formula STR1 which process comprises a) reacting in a first step, a 1-fluoro-cyclopropyl phenyl ketone of the formula STR2 in which R represents hydrogen, halogen, methyl, methoxy, phenyl or phenoxy, with an peroxy compound in the presence of a diluent, and b) reacting, in a second step, the resulting 1-fluoro-cyclopropane-1-carboxylate of the formula STR3 in which R has the abovementioned meaning, with a base in the presence of a diluent, and then acidifying the mixture.
